I'm speaking from the heart.
I'm so many years ahead of you
I don't know where to start.
Though we didn't grow together,
We never grew apart.
I'm checking on you, like a game of chess
Every chance I got.

I hope you're playing smart,
You were seven when I left.
Never took the time to teach you
Every move you make is life or death...
I was busy helping out mother climb out of debt.
And now I feel like I'm drowning in words I never said...

I'm tryna catch my breath,
Before I breathe my last.
Give you some brotherly advice
while I have a chance.
Like focus on your grades,
Don't grow up too fast,
Remember boys will still be boys at the end of class...

But I guess I'm too late!
You're 15 and pregnant...
With our history
I guess it should've been expected.
But I am surprised
because of all our conversations.
